Columbus, Ohio

We bake the way our grandmothers taught us,
and stock the shelves the way our kitchens used to be.

Authentic African baked goods and specialty groceries — from jollof rice to injera, from fresh plantains to spices sourced directly from West African farms.

Our Story

A taste of home,
right here in Columbus.

Afro Lounge was born from a simple conviction: that the flavors of Africa deserve a place at the table in the American Midwest. What started as a small grocery corner has grown into a neighborhood destination where families come for the fufu flour, the pastries come for the puff-puff, and everyone discovers something they didn't know they'd been missing.

Every product on our shelves carries a story — spices from Ghanaian markets, cassava from Nigerian farms, palm oil pressed the old way. Our bakery bakes each morning using recipes passed down through generations. This isn't fusion. This is heritage, on a plate.
